Watering Tips
Proper watering is important to a new plant’s success in the first two years. There is not a 100% accurate plan for watering new plants in our region. We recommend checking the soil moisture level before watering to determine whether or not the new plant needs water. This can be done by simply inserting a small shovel or trowel into the ground near the plant to create a small opening to the depth of about 4 inches or more. Stick your hand in the opening and feel the dirt. If it feels wet, don’t water. If it is dry, your plants need water. New planting should be checked daily, however in most cases it is unlikely that they will need to be watered daily.
